Rioting

From my own opinion, the intention was there, but the action was wrong.

I have to admit, there is no perfect government, no perfect country, and to be smaller in scope, there is no perfect system in this world.

Whether or not what these people claimed was true about our election system, only God knows. But to show demonstration is such a stupid and unreasonable act.

I know they wanted to show something and to prove something in our political system, but the way to do it was wrong. Just like our dear friend Wee Meng Chee with his Negarakuku song. What he said was true, but he did it in a wrong way.

There are many ways to object our government policy. But not to the extent of creating havoc and causing massive traffic jam and giving trouble to innocent people. Let alone this kind of action would disgrace our Malaysian name.

So what is my stand on the recent riot? Okay maybe i would give credit for their intention, maybe there REALLY WAS a problem in our government and election system. But i would not comment on that. So i would sum it up by saying : doing right thing, the wrong way.

However, riot can be beneficial. It creates an alarm to our current government that somebody is watching their actions. This makes them careful and put on their guard at all times. Otherwise power abuse would happen.

So everything has good and bad. But if the bad outweighs the good, then better not lah.

Main Entry: ri·ot

2 a: public violence, tumult, or disorder b: a violent public disorder; specifically : a tumultuous disturbance of the public peace by three or more persons assembled together and acting with a common intent

Main Entry: dem·on·stra·tion

4: a public display of group feelings toward a person or cause

You are right! Riots ARE bad. But demonstrations are crucial part of democratic society.

What happened last Saturday was a DEMONSTRATION, not a RIOT.

If you do not understand simple English, please use this online dictionary - http://www.merriam-webster.com/

If you value your blog, please take down that very ugly picture of that Ah Beng.

If you do not appreciate democracy, please move to North Korea, Cuba or China.

Thank you for listening.

Dear Joshua,

Perhaps you will gain more through reading more resources such as:

http://www.jeffooi.com
http://harismibrahim.wordpress.com
http://bangmalaysia.wordpress.com
http://bersih.org

These websites and the power of Internet will allow you to understand more of why the peaceful gathering was organised by Bersih.

The democracy of the nation will lie in the power of the hands of people who vote. Thus, it will start off with a transparency in elections.

Dear Joshua, on Saturday, it was not a riot at all. It was a demonstration, a freedom march that echoes the voices of concerned citizens. Seeing thousands of people, drenched in rain, marching in one voice, calling for electoral reforms.

If you are a concerned citizen, I am sure God will surely bless you with a conscience, to pray even more for this nation. Evermore, protecting all races and all religions of this nation in peace and harmony which you and I desire to live in.

I am a Christian just like you. And I surely will pray for revival and breakthrough in this nation.

God Bless Malaysia.

Regards,
Grace
