Today the Government announced a decrease of 10cents for the fuel price.
Hooray for that!...but wait!
I remember the government promised that they would reduce 15cents if the crude oil price remains low, or at least maintain. I remember the promise was made when the crude oil price was USD 108 per barrel.
Since then, the crude oil price has been going down, and most of the time stayed below the 100 dollars mark. Right now, at this time, the crude oil price is USD 105.43 per barrel. It's now below the USD 108 mark!
So why did we only get 10cents decrease? And not the 15cents? I am grateful for the decrease, i am really.
But i am just disgusted that the government promised something and could not deliver. 5 cents can make alot of difference.

A Better Tomorrow?
Sorry for this post, but i have to say this, that i am sad to see many financial companies, especially in the U.S. are having trouble.
Lehman Brothers has filed for bankruptcy, while American International Group (AIG), also faces financial difficulties and is taken over by the Federal Reserves.
AIG is the Group that sponsored Manchester United. But looks like Man Utd are still doing business as usual, no negative effect on them.
But i want to say this, we are seeing one of the worst financial slumps in history. Lehman Brothers and AIG are both great and big financial and insurance companies respectively. AIG is the biggest insurance group in the world, and Lehman Brothers is one of the big investment institutions.
It's sad to see the downfall of the world economy. We as futures of this world, are to enter our future seeing all these results. It will somehow affect our confidence, making us wonder what worse thing can happen to our future, career, children, and children's careers.
Hope to see a better future. It sounds ironic, because we all know the world is going to get worse, with the end time nears. But, we can still hope, we can.

Arresting The Wrong People Perhaps?
It's funny how bias and how unfair this nation and the government has become.
Teresa Kok and Tan Hoon Cheng were alleged to have caused "racial disharmony".
The one thing i really don't understand is how can a reporter, Tan Hoon Cheng, who was merely reporting on the news of Datuk Ahmad Ismail, be arrested? I agree with that Datuk Ong Tee Keat said. If Tan Hoon Cheng is to be arrested, let alone the starter of the racial disharmony, Datuk Ahmad Ismail.
Shouldn't he be arrested all the more? Just because he is a Division Head, and one of UMNO's members, doesn't mean he could get away with any arrest. The police only said they would arrest him, but nothing has happened.
Teresa Kok is also the MP, also one of DAP's members, and she is arrested for causing racial conflict. With no concrete proof.
Actually, both Tan Hoon Cheng and Teresa Kok have not caused big disharmony in this nation. I wasn't even aware of what Tan Hoon Cheng was reporting. But one thing i know, the whole nation knows abt the racist remark by Datuk Ahmad Ismail, and yet he was not arrested under ISA!
Where art thou justice? Where art thou?
I shall not comment too much on this kind of issue. Or else some of you will see me in papers being arrested under ISA also. But i really can't hide my feelings, there is little, or no hope for this country. May God intervene.

911 Memorial
Can we have a 1-minute silence to remember those who lived great, and died 7 years ago.
*1 minute passed*
Imagine it was a normal day. You went to work, thinking it was just another work-loaded hectic day. You stepped into the office about 9am and started doing your work, or at least started off with a cup of coffee at the coffee room.
Out of a sudden, you heard a *BANG!*. The whole building was shaking. People screaming. And you looked down, you saw smoke coming out from the floors under you.
It was one fine day, 7 years ago, when people thought it was just another working day. Little did they know they would end up, well, either in hell or in heaven minutes after two planes crashed into the World Trade Center in New York, and also the Pentagon in Washington.
The wickedness of the Al-Qaeda stunned the whole world. That incident changed the world, at least it changed the America. People became more religious. Churches became packed a few Sundays after the incident. Suddenly everybody cherished and treasured their families and loved ones even more.
A total of 2998 people died in both the locations of attacks. Close to 6500 people got injured. A few more missing. But millions and millions of hearts were mourning.
These kinds of incidents will happen even more. When the end time draws nearer, wickedness of people grows stronger. What are you going to do about it? What happens if something like that happens to you? Are you ready to go?
Today we remember those who lost their loved ones, those who braved themselves to save thousands of lives, and especially those who witnessed the incidents and have yet to know the Saviour of the world.
"Even though i walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me."
Psalm 23:4

Good News About Oil Price!
Good news!!
As of today, 9 September 2008, the price for oil is now USD 101.81 per barrel!
If this continues. our petrol price in Malaysia will become RM 2.40! Pray pray pray!
But surprisingly gold price is also dropping constantly, with current price at USD 782.
Funny, the demand for these two commodities are dropping. hmmmm

Rich getting richer, Poor getting poorer
You must have heard a saying that goes : the rich get richer, the poor get poorer.
It firstly applied to the business world, then society. And now, that phrase applies to the football world as well.
Take-overs are now becoming very popular in the world of football. Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, and many more football clubs have very rich owners. Billionaires are now more interested at football take-overs.
The recent purchase of Manchester City by the Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) has made things worse in football. Billionaire owners are willing to spend millions and millions of Euros to buy players from around the world. The worse part is sometimes players don't worth that much.
The rich clubs like Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid, can buy players they want. They are able to offer high prices for their targeted players. But with the addition of Manchester City, i'm assuming that things can become worse.
There will be inflation in football. Players will now demand more, in wages and transfer fees. The rich clubs can afford, but what about the poor clubs?
The market in football is now more expensive. The poor clubs cannot afford, because good players now are demanding higher. Even the clubs are demanding higher prices. With good players at the clubs, they have higher chances of winning competitions, getting advertisements, commercials, and many more. As a result, they are also getting money from there, which will make the club even richer.
So directly or indirectly, the rich are oppressing the poor. The rich clubs get richer, the poor clubs get poorer.
So, now football is also like that, what's next? I wonder....

Ungratefulness
The (racist) comment by Datuk Ahmad Ismail towards the non-Malays has created anger among the non-Malays. The worse part is, he doesn't want to apologize.
To me personally, i wasn't very much affected by it. These comments have been said over and over again by different groups of Malays.
Perhaps what they should do is to go back and look at history. It doesn't matter who step foot in this land first. But the effort poured out to protect this land is what that matters. By right this country belongs to the Orang Asli, who are now living in the forest. Malays are originally from Indonesia. So there shouldn't be matter of who came to Malaysia first.
Before our Independence, different races of Malay, Chinese, Indian, worked together to fight for independence for this country. Tunku Abdul Rahman, Tun Tan Cheng Lock, and Tun Sambathan, just to name a few.
Different races have worked hard, and have died to fight for independence. I don't think the Malays alone could have done it without the help of everyone is this country. So why boast about your so-called "ownership" of this land?
Today we can see that our nation is developing, fast and rapid. I dare to say that a large percentage of this development comes from the effort of Chinese and Indians. Look at the companies and you would know. Look at the top 10 richest man in Malaysia and you would know. How many Malays are in the list? Generally none!
Chinese and Indians have contributed to economical growth of this nation alot! Malaysia wouldn't be Malaysia today without everyone. If the government were to take away the special right (hak keistimewaan) of Malays, i guarantee you all the Malays would fall!
So there shouldn't be any racist remarks, or even thoughts. Malays should be grateful to have a peaceful and harmony nation to live in, despite the races. We need each other to build this nation. Without us, where would you be right now?

Why These Happen?
Wow, i almost couldn't recognize my blog. It was left stagnant for so long. But it's ok, i took time out of my revision for my finals to say something that is relevant, and applies to almost every aspect of the world issues.
Inflation is a hot topic these days. US economy downturn is a hot topic these days. National crises are definitely hot topics for most countries in the world.
Prices are going up. Food price, oil price, let's just say, everything is going up! Shortage of food and water in many countries is happening.
Professional economists and analysts are trying to put up theories of why all these are happening. Demand and supply is certainly one of the most concrete reasons behind these issues. People are coming out with reasons and complicated analysis of why are all these happening.
There's no need to put up complicated theories. There's only one reason behind : GREED
People just want more supplies for themselves. China is keeping all the oil for itself and thus increased the demand for it, that's why oil price is now USD 108 per barrel, as compared to USD 78 two years ago.
People are fighting to become the economic power and thus neglecting their environmental responsibilities of protecting this beautiful earth that God has created. As a result - climate change has caused disasters of bigger sizes, and the inability for crops to be produced effectively. Thus increasing the shortage of food, and food prices.
We can go on and on discussing the different issues happening today. Political instability, economical underperfomance, and social issues do not need complicated theories to explain why they happen.
The reason is GREED.
